I started by patting MAC Paint Pot in Painterly (a flossy beige) over my unabridged eyelid with a MAC 249 Large Shader Brush.

Painterly, a cream eyeshadow, acts as primer. Its job is to intensify the color of the other eyeshadows and pigments and to ballast them in place.

To get the smokey effect that looks like a gradient of colors, I layer cream shadows, liners and powder eyeshadows, beginning the layering process by lining my unabridged lid with MAC Eye Kohl in Powersurge (a shimmery gilt).

Because I plan to smudge pigment on pinnacle of the Powersurge, it's okay if it looks a little messy at this phase.

Next, I define my crease by sweeping MAC Eyeshadow in Brown Script (a matte orangey brown) into the crease with a MAC 217 Blending Brush.

Then, I grab MAC Pigment in Golden Olive (shimmery golden light-green) and pat the color onto my hat, drawing it upward into the crease. For this footstep I'1000 using a Number Eight Baton B. Brush eyeshadow castor to apply Golden Olive, but a MAC 239 Centre Shader Brush would work great, besides.

Okay, so, see how I have Brownish Script in the crease and Gilt Olive on the lid? I desire both of these colors to blend into each other. That'south the goal.

To create a smooth transition of color, I sweep MAC Pigment in Gold Fashion (a shimmery peachy aureate) into the pucker with my 217.

Gold Mode acts kinda like a bridge between Brown Script and Golden Olive. Now I have a color slope! 🙂

With smokey eye looks, I really like to work the outer corner of the middle to add depth to the look. I practice that past applying a darker color onto the outer tertiary of my hat. Here, I alloy two MAC eyeshadows, Humid (shimmery nighttime green) and Folie (matte night reddish brownish), and pat them both onto the outer third of my lid with a MAC 239 brush.

The dark colors contrast with Golden Olive, yah?

I don't want too stark of a contrast, though, so I grab my trusty MAC 224 Tapered Blending Castor to blend out the edges.

Ahhh, smooooove…

Now it's time to line the eyes. I load my Laura Mercier Apartment Heart Liner Brush with MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack and then line my upper lash line.

Straight on top of the line I simply drew, I pat MAC Eyeshadow in Boiling on with a Sonia Kashuk Angled Eyeshadow Brush.

After I run the edge of a makeup sponge along the border of the liner, here's what I have…

Because it's St. Patrick's Twenty-four hours, I desire a festive sparkle, so I lightly grit MAC Glitter in Reflects Antiquarian Golden over the entire eye with a MAC 275 Medium Angled Shading Brush.

I complete the heart expect past filling in my brows, curling my lashes and so calculation mascara.

After roofing up my nighttime circles with concealer, I'm ready to move onto my cheeks and lips.

Cheeks and lips

Because in that location are quite a few steps to getting the eyes, I keep the lips and cheeks super unproblematic.

For the cheeks, I sweep Benefit Coralista (a shimmery pinkish coral) on my apples with a MAC 129 Powder/Blush Castor. Then, for the lips, I apply i layer of Chanel Aqualumiere Gloss in Tangerine Dream (shimmery orange).
